The diploma book project "NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS – From Archive to Stage: The K&D Sessions Live" follows Kruder & Dorfmeister as a contemporary live experience is brought to life from the archive of "The K&D Sessions." It all begins with a commission from the Elbphilharmonie. Since no individual stems of the original tracks exist anymore, months of work follow with magnetic tapes, files, and machines from a bygone era. From this grows an unexpectedly comprehensive project: not a retrospective, but a translation into the present — with band, light, and everything that transforms sound into a moment. From close proximity, a deeply personal documentation takes shape in book form. The perspective follows the process: cables, notes, hidden moments … From the search for clarity, the curious questioning, and the courage to interpret, the mixed-media document develops its diversity and depth — a narrative journey toward a live version that does not repeat the original, but lets it breathe anew.
