This diploma project shows Kruder & Dorfmeister's "The K&D Sessions" studio archive becoming a live show. It all begins with a request from the Elbphilharmonie. Lacking original stems, months of restoration work had to be done — magnetic tapes, analog files, machines from another era — unexpectedly challenging tasks. What emerges is a translation into the present — with musicians, lights, and everything that turns sound into a moment. Up close, a personal documentation takes mixed-media book form. The perspective follows the process: cables, notes, hidden moments. Out of the search for clarity, the curious questioning, and the courage to interpret, the document finds its range and depth. The outcome isn't a 412-page retrospective but a vivid narrative journey inviting the reader to join in witnessing the musicians' transformation — one that doesn't repeat the original but lets it breathe anew.
