The diploma book project "NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS – From Archive to Stage: The K&D Sessions Live" follows Kruder & Dorfmeister as the archive of "The K&D Sessions" evolves into a contemporary live experience. It all begins with a request from the Elbphilharmonie. Since no individual stems of the original recordings remain, months of work follow, involving magnetic tapes, analog files, and machines from a bygone era. From this emerges an unexpectedly comprehensive project: not a retrospective, but a translation into the present—with a live band, lighting, and everything that transforms sound into a moment. From up close, a deeply personal documentation takes shape in book form. The perspective follows the process: cables, notes, hidden moments… Through the search for clarity, the curiosity to question, and the courage to interpret, this mixed-media document develops its variety and depth—a narrative journey toward a live version that does not merely repeat the original, but breathes new life into it.
