KRUDER & DORFMEISTER Live at Wiener Konzerthaus

A project that has been with me throughout the past year—and ultimately culminated in capturing the many special moments of the concert at the Vienna Konzerthaus in the form of an Arte Concert film, for which I had the privilege of taking on the creative direction.

The album: world-renowned, lots of heritage, and a unique—at the time groundbreaking—world of electronic music. For more than 25 years it has existed—not as an echo of a bygone era, but as a quiet, steady current beneath the surface. The level of trust in bringing this to life was immense: allowing for unconventional ideas, working with technical solutions from the ‚90s, and choosing creative visual approaches that intuitively feel right based on experience.

The pre-production phase was brief; decisions had to be made quickly. Post-production, on the other hand, took months: every detail was edited, adjusted, and refined; the material was run through VHS recorders and punctuated with intermission moments. The result is an 80+ minute journey to the heart of the concert experience—a dive into the spheres of dub, breakbeats, and jazz. The VHS moments disrupts the clarity of the digital footage, opening up spaces for fragmented memories of the ’90s.
